Although Gospel preaching on the streets is crucial to spreading the Good news of the Lord Jesus Christ...
(This is me preaching the Gospel on 10th and Market Streets in Philadelphia)
Gospel tracts are a great effective way to get the Gospel into hands of the closed ear, hard hearted individuals. Whether they read it or not is another story and the reason prayer is also crucial when ministering the Gospel! We do not have record of the apostles using Gospel tracts, but then again, I believe they would have, had they the means of printing them.
Not ONLY is the use of Gospel tracts a great way of getting the Gospel into the hands of the lost if you are on the streets and desiring to see souls be won to the Lord, yet uncomfortable with the actual preaching of the Gospel, BUT Gospel tracts are a great everyday tool to use when living your life doing the things that need to be done.
It is very simple to keep tracts in your wallet, purse, pocket... and simply hand them to people as you live your life and do the things that God has intended you to do away from "street ministry"... although I love ministering on the street and seeing people's lives change, I can only do that so often... BUT, my whole life is a ministry!
Whether I am in the prison, on the streets, at work or running errands, I am armed with Gospel tracts and ready to see a soul be won for the Lord!
If you are a BORN AGAIN Christian... we have a duty and a priviledge to be lived out in our daily lives! SHARING THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
Think about it, if you had the cure for AIDS would you just sit back and let them all who have AIDS die? I surley hope NOT!

Warning: Be careful when choosing tracts that you do not get a tract with a false gospel on it. It is hard to find good Biblically correct Gospel tracts. We use "Who is he?" from Chick Publications (but again, be careful becauce Chick tracts have many tracts that are not correct Biblically... I have found that the "Who is he?" tract is a good one). Also there is a GREAT Gospel tract from 'No Greater Joy Ministries', written by Michael Pearl, called "God made Jesus to be sin". Excellent Gospel tract! Tracts that teach you need to 'repent of your sins', or, 'forsake your sins' are not good Gospel messages! An unbeliever CANNOT repent of their sins, they can ONLY believe the Gospel.
